Some Home Remedies To Remove Dark Spots

Hello all,

Have you ever developed a dark spot on your skin? I recently have – right in the middle of my forehead.  And I am NOT fond of it! My skin is very sensitive so I have to be very careful of the products I use otherwise my face breaks out very badly.

I decided I wanted to try something natural so I did some research and wanted to share what I learned with you.

Dark spots are a common skin problem. These dark spots are also known as hyper pigmentation meaning coloration – deposition of pigment. (skin exposed to the sun increases in melanocyte cell production). You have probably heard them called age spots, liver spots, dark spots etc..In my case, I believe it may be a sign of aging. (GRACEFULLY) 🙂

lemons

A.)  Juice from a lemon or should I just say Lemon Juice? LOL! I personally have found this one to be my favorite. Some may ask, would the juice already in the bottle work as well?  I have tried it and did not like the results  it was giving me (over a month’s time) so I do prefer using fresh lemon juice because I am starting to see the results of what I am looking for. I simply squeeze fresh lemon juice is a small container (keeping it in the refrigerator)-applying it to the affected area with a Q-tip. Leave it on for about twenty minutes and then rinse it off with cool water. I normally do this twice a day. My time length on this routine is two months. Hopefully to see the dark spots clear without a trace.

B.) Buttermilk – Buttermilk contains lactic acid which is know to be very beneficial to the skin and has been used as a natural beauty agent. Apply it directly to the skin with a cotton swab or cotton ball – wait a couple minutes and the rinse off.

C.) Aloe Vera – I use aloe vera gel on my hair and it is also known to treat sunburns but for dark spot you should preferably use fresh aloe (the plant). Rub it on and let it sit for about an hour and then rinse off with cold water. You should repeat this for a month twice a day.

D).Castor Oil: Although I haven’t tried it, castor oil has been known as the strongest to get rid of dark spots. Apply the oil to a cotton ball or q-tip and apply to dark spots area twice a day. – (Morning & Evening)

E.) Onions: Because it’s highly acidic in nature, red onions actually acts as a bleaching agent. Rub the raw onion directly onto your dark spots or you can combine one tablespoon of onion juice and two tablespoons of honey and apply this. Leave on for about 20 minutes and wash off well.

H.) Sugar Cubes: Rub the cubs directly onto your dark spots and they will naturally be removed – this is because of the glycol acid that is in the sugar cubes.

I hope that this helps in eliminating your dark spots. Do you know of some other ways of getting rid of dark spots? Let us know!

Much love and blessings…. – Kimberly
